Medscape - Indication-specific dosing for Persantine, (dipyridamole), of drug within 48 hours prior to stress testing with intravenous dipyridamole or other  In a study of about 1100 patients who underwent coronary arteriography and IV Persantine® assisted thallium imaging, the results of both tests were interpreted  procedures e.g. perfusion imaging using dipyridamole stress in patients with left chart converting the adenosine dose into the infusion rate required, according   18 Jun 2019 A nuclear stress test is a relatively non-invasive diagnostic procedure that intravenously over 4 minutes at a standardized dose of 0.56 mg.kg,  Indications: See exercise stress test procedure and: Inability to perform Adenosine Dose (See chart on next page): No Doz. What is the total dose of dipyridamole given to a 200 pound person? Most common reasons to cancel a adenosine/persantine stress test are: patient has has consumed caffeine, fluid in the lungs, inhaler has xanthine derivative, or patient is a chronic asthmatic Chart for contraindications of Adenosine, Dipyridamole, and Lexiscan 2. Adenosine Dose (See chart on next page): Adenosine is given as a continuous infusion at a rate of 140 ug/kg/min over a 4 minute period. Maximum dose 60 mg. Radiotracer infusion between 2 minutes after the start of the adenosine infusion. Adenosine dose is given under the direction of the stress test physician. Adenoscan Dosing Chart (4 minute infusion) A Persantine stress test is a medical procedure used to detect any blockages in the heart’s major arteries that may indicate coronary artery disease and other cardiac problems or complications. It works by measuring electrical outputs, both those emitted naturally by the heart and those measured against an injected substance. Aggrenox Persantine Procedure: ECG electrodes placed after proper skin preparation. This is usually done after the resting images were completed. An intravenous line should be established. Draw appropriate amount of dipyridamole (see chart) and mix with 0.9% NaCl solution in a 60 cc syringe with a total volume of 40 cc prior to testing.

The Adenosine Cardiolite stress test is a diagnostic exam used to evaluate the supply of blood to your heart muscle. Your heart receives blood from the coronary arteries. If these arteries become partially blocked or narrowed, your heart will not receive the blood that it needs for proper function.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION. The dose of intravenous Persantine ® (dipyridamole USP) as an adjunct to thallium myocardial perfusion imaging should be adjusted according to the weight of the patient. The recommended dose is 0.142 mg/kg/minute (0.57 mg/kg total) infused over 4 minutes. Stress Testing. Clinical experience suggests that patients being treated who also require pharmacological stress testing with intravenous dipyridamole or other adenosinergic agents (e.g. adenosine, regadenoson) should interrupt therapy for 48 hours prior to stress testing Adenosine: (Major) Adenosine effects are potentiated by dipyridamole; consider reducing the dose of adenosine in patients taking dipyridamole. When adenosine is used in adult patients for supraventricular tachycardia, reduce the initial dose to 3 mg (50% dosage reduction).
