SOLVED my flashing coolant light problem. Its relay 42 on mine that is at fault also relay 43 is the same which is what I've replaced it with. 1978 Golf GLS (Cadbury) when you see this flashing light and engine behavior is occurring, does it ever sound like the engine is running hard (lots of loud top-end clatter as if you are running low on oil)? if not, it could just be a faulty oil pressure sending unit (sensor). when it begins to act up, it is probably throwing the system into limp mode. your engine will not rev over 3k rpm; and it will be very slow oil light flashing and a buzzing noise. my oil light started flashing today so i put 1ltr of oil in and it kept flashing…. so i put another half a litre in and it still kept flashing and then it started buzzing 2002 VW GOlf: light flashed..oil changed..brake fluid..light went I have 2002 VW GOlf - while driving yesterday the brake warning light flashed on for a minute then went off. Had the oil changed in Dec and brake fluid was okay. what does it mean if the red oil light is blinking? If it's flickering there is a bad connection related to the sending unit circuit. Most often it is due to a bad contact inside the sending unit itself but there could be a poor contact in the electrical connector too.

If there is enough oil in the engine to fill the oil filter plus around half a quart, the oil pressure will come up and stay up. 23 Nov 2011 A friend gave me a 2001 Golf GLS. My friend returned the car to me and the oil light has started to blink. Took it to the vw stealers an they sold me an oil pressure sensor switch £11.00 light went off for about 300 miles then bammm. where an if I hit an island etc when dwn gearing it bleeps an flash's.
